The Acting Class (Film)  07:30 - 09:30
Bob Hope Theatre, Wythfield Road, Eltham More details

The Acting Class (2017, 77 mins)

Directed by Deirdre O’Neill and Mike Wayne

The Acting Class is an acclaimed new feature documentary exploring why actors from working class backgrounds are being squeezed out of the profession and why that should matter to all of us who watch films, television and go to the theatre. The film recently won Best UK Feature at the Labour Film Festival and taps into a spate of media reports about the domination of the ‘posh’ at the top of the industry.

Don't miss an opportunity to see this film. There will be a Q & A with the Directors following the screening . It will be an excellent night.

Tickets from Bob Hope Theatre only £6

Eltham Arts are delighted to host this award winning film as part of their WALL project, exploring Walls around Us , More details www.elthamarts.org.

"Patience" by Gilbert & Sullivan  19:30 - 21:45
The Centre, New Eltham Methodist Church, 435-9 Footscray Road, New Eltham More details

New Eltham Community Production's next show will be "Patience" by Gilbert & Sullivan. It’s 14 years since our last G&S and 43 years since we staged "Patience"! This comic opera in two acts is lighthearted, witty, laugh out loud funny in places and the music is tuneful and catchy: a light-hearted masterpiece satirising the intellectual attitudes prevalent in the late Victorian period. The satire remains as relevant today as when the piece was written; fashions and tastes may have changed but the cult of personality continues to this day. It's a story of love, superficiality and vanity - come along and see us perform one of Gilbert & Sullivan’s most successful shows and find out just who will be Bunthorne's Bride?
